Hi y’all! I’m Sarah. I’m a definite introvert, and generally struggle when talking about myself, but I’ll give it a shot. It might sound weird, then, that I have a blog, but I think it allows for me to interact with folks on my own terms, in my own time (if that makes any sense).

I grew up Catholic in the South, which is a bit of a minority status. I’ve had some really great conversations about religion over the years with friends that really challenged my faith, and I think I’ve come out the other side with a much better understanding of it, and of its importance to me, than I would have otherwise.

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from Clemson University and an M.S. in Computer Science & Applications with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction from Virginia Tech. Right out of school, I landed a job as a user experience designer, and every day is an adventure.

A couple years ago I finally decided to jump into the world of online dating with both feet, and immediately started dating the first man who contacted me. He’s since told me that he knew he wanted to marry me on that first date (it took me a little bit longer 🙂 M and I have now been engaged for almost a year and are busy preparing for our wedding later on this year. I can’t wait to start married life with my love!

We recently also bought a house (I know, it’s been a lot all at once!) in a small town with a lot of history. Right now it’s just me living in the house, and being a homeowner is a big change from renting an apartment, but it’s been great so far — knock on wood — having the control to mold the house into exactly the home we’d like to it to be. We’ve got grand plans, most of which will have to wait until after the wedding 🙂

I started crocheting in grad school as a way to de-stress. Not much has changed! I’ve just exchanged the stress of grad school for the general stress of life. It’s been fun journey, growing in my skill and trying new techniques and fibers.

Vstrecha is the Russian word for a meeting place. I’m excited to meet each one of y’all and share the things we’re excited about. Feel free to start up a conversation or ask me any questions! I’m glad you stopped by.
