Yarn Along

Yarn Along Feb 24th

I’m joining Ginny again this week & sharing what I’ve been crocheting and reading.

I was able to make it to my church knit & crochet group this week, so I snuck in a little preemie hat to donate. Otherwise, though, my attention’s been focused on crocheting and assembling wedding flowers. I’ve got the checklist to end all checklists to keep track of what’s done and what’s left.

Over the weekend, I started reading one of the books that I got from M for Christmas. It’s all about introverts and how to handle being one when it’s extroversion that’s really valued. I assume she’ll get into more into introversion; currently she’s still going through the history of how the U.S. got to be this way. It’s really fascinating (it also ties in with our cultural fascination with movie stars), but it also just makes me really frustrated! I think we were better off when there was more of a focus on character rather than personality.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree. I wish character was still the standard to measure people by. Our culture puts more store in how many likes/clicks/follows a person can get no matter how ill behaved they are. Good luck with your flower schedule!

    1. Gosh, isn’t that the truth. It also doesn’t help that those ill behaved folks can hide behind their online personas.
Thanks for the well wishes! I think I’m definitely going to need some luck to finish everything in time >_<

  2. Hi Sarah. I just discovered your blog through Ginny’s Yarn Along. Curious, I had to look back to see what are these wedding flowers you’re crocheting. I didn’t see the full story, but I saw some pretty boutineers. Wow! I’m imagining a whole bouquet now. I also wanted to say I enjoyed clicking on some of the music links you’ve provided. Thanks for introducing me to some new-to-me artists.

    1. Hi Becki, welcome! I’ve just gotten back into blogging after some time away, so you’ve probably see the whole story about my wedding flowers. I’ve been working on creating boutonnieres, bouquets and corsages for the whole wedding party.

Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed the music. I love discovering new music that way too, so it’s fun when I’m able to share my favorites with others.
