Oh man, y’all. I just heard that Nepal had another earthquake yesterday. I said my rosary this morning for all the people of Nepal, but I felt like I should do more. If you feel the same way, and are able, I donated to Catholic Relief Services. I just can’t imagine what that’s like, having so much destroyed, and thinking it was over and beginning to pick up the pieces, only to get hit again.
I am back to the crochet pictures obviously lit by overhead fluorescent lights only found in corporate cubetown. I’m making pretty good progress on secret project #1, especially during conference call meetings where all I do is listen. Slowly but surely wins the race, right? I am definitely the tortoise in this scenario.
I finished Outlander! It ended on both a happy and a speculative note, and I enjoyed the story and the characters enough to want to keep going with the next book in the series. I’m going to branch out and read some other, shorter things first before I get back to that. Over the weekend I also started and finished Lock In. It’s set in the near future, and explores what happens to society when a disease causes a large portion of humanity to be completely paralyzed, but still have a completely functioning brain. If you’re into sci-fi or speculative fiction like that, I really recommend this book. The story also had an element of mystery / crime solving that kept me turning pages way past the time I should have been asleep in bed.
I hope you’ll join me on Ginny’s blog & share what you’re working on and reading!
