Finally, part 2 of my baby shower present! Drum roll…..
Ta-daaaaaa! I love how this blanket turned out! The stitch definition of the ‘twists’ is gorgeous. I’m also pleased with the color. My friend and her husband decided to not know the gender of the baby until it was born, so it posed a small challenge when it came to picking out yarn! All baby yarn is in pastels of either blue or pink, it seems like.
Anyway, who am I kidding. You’re here for the pictures 😉
So. The details. The pattern, yarn & hook info is all out on my blanket ravelry project. Since I chose to use not baby yarn, I used the same secret that I used for the lion: How to make cheap yarn baby soft. It. Works. Wonders. I just wanted to snuggle with this blanket all day.
One note that I did not include in my ravelry project… I do tend to crochet a bit tighter, so things almost always end up smaller than described in the pattern if I use their recommended hook size (which I did). So I chose to add another round of twists before I started the fan edging, to increase the size a bit more.
Happy crocheting, y’all!
