I finally finished my secret project I had alluded to (the wedding present afghan) plus a couple other things for a friend’s baby shower (I’ll showcase those on upcoming Fridays) and now i’m left with no yarny project. I’m sure i’ll find something to pick back up shortly, but for now I’ve switched gears a bit and picked up a different kind of needle — for some cross-stitching 🙂 I haven’t done a cross-stitch project in such a long time! I’m working on this winter alphabet, and I hope to have it finished and framed by Christmastime so I can hang it up… we shall see.
After some quick palate-cleansing pool reads (Sookie Stackhouse & Stephanie Plum books, started the Inn Boonsboro trilogy by Nora Roberts), i’ve picked up a thicker (and substantially creepier) one: Let Me In. I’ve been having a bit of trouble remembering who all the characters are — it jumps around a good bit to different viewpoints, and i’m sure it doesn’t help that the names are mostly Swedish (eg I don’t know anyone named Häkan in real life). During my lunchtime reading i’ve been tackling Anna Karenina. I’ve tried picking this up a couple times & have never made it far, but I think reading it in short bursts this time around has been keeping me interested.
What are you working on / reading?
